Missing the spontaneity of wandering into the store and discovering something new? Go Tête-à-Tête with a Bookseller with our new virtual personal shopping appointments! 

We are now offering 30 minute Zoom appointments catered specifically to your reading interests. When you sign up, you’ll be asked to fill out a short survey that will help us find the best books for you. When it’s time for your appointment, our booksellers will call in from the store, and you’ll get a little bit of that bookstore magic right in your house. Signing up for an appointment costs $25, and that money goes directly toward any books you decide to buy, or you can hang onto it as a gift card if you aren’t ready to commit to a title just yet.

We’ll also be offering free open sessions every Tuesday afternoon to show off some of the new titles released each week. More information about these can be found on our events page.

Tête-à-Tête With a Bookseller FAQs

When are appointments available?

We are starting off with 1-on-1 sessions available four days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday in the afternoon/evening, as well as Saturday mornings. Click through to our scheduling app to see which appointments are still available.

**If there is a big demand for these Tête-à-Tête sessions, we will do our best to add more time options. Please be patient with us as we gauge demand and get these off the ground.

How much does this cost?

We are charging $25 to sign up for an appointment, but all of that money will come back to you as credit toward your book purchases. 

How do I pick up my books after my appointment?

We will ring up and bag your books at the store for you, so you just have to come by during any of our Curbside Pickup hours (M-Sat, 11 am-7 pm). When you get to the store, text the phone number we’ll give you for pickup, and your order will be brought out to our front table. Please wear a mask when you come for pickup. If you are unable to do curbside pickup, we can ship your purchase for an additional shipping cost. Your $25 credit may be applied for shipping.

What can I purchase?

We’re happy to offer anything and everything we have on hand at the store, including books, notebooks, pens, greeting cards, and Literati merch.

What if I want a book that’s not in stock?

If you decide you want a book that we don’t have on hand, as long it’s available through our distributor or a publisher we order from regularly, we can get you a copy and apply your $25 credit!

Can I purchase pre-orders?

Yes! We can place a pre-order for you and get you a copy on or around the book’s release date.

I signed up for a session, but I need to reschedule! What should I do? 

If you won’t be able to make your appointment, please let us know up to 48 hours in advance for a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours, your $25 will be applied as a gift card purchase and you can be in touch with us about rescheduling for a different time.

Can I request a specific bookseller? 

We won’t be able to honor requests for specific booksellers, but never fear, all of our staff are well read and will help you find the perfect book.
